Effective 12 October 2026. LapTally (laptally.com) offers free running tools with no account. This page explains what is stored, what is sent and the choices you have. Questions: hello@laptally.com.
What you type stays on your device
Times, paces, distances, body weight, heart rates and everything else you enter are calculated in your browser. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not included in analytics. The last values you used, and preferences such as miles or kilometres and day or night mode, are saved in your browser's local storage so they are there when you come back. A GPX file you open in the course pace planner is read by your browser and never uploaded. A share link carries the tool's numbers after the # in the address, a part of a web address that browsers do not send to the server. Clearing your browser's site data deletes everything saved.
Google Analytics (only if you accept)
If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which tools and buttons (print, download, share) are used, so we know what to improve. It sets first-party cookies whose names start with _ga, and Google receives information such as the page address (without anything after ? or #), the referring page, your browser and device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and Google signals and ad personalization are not enabled in it. The ads on this site are covered under Advertising below.
If you click Reject, or do not answer, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page; rejecting also deletes the _ga cookies.
Cloudflare
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and measures how fast pages load without cookies, without local storage and without fingerprinting, so it does not need your consent. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
Fonts
Pages load the Barlow fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch them.
Advertising
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for consent before advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they are not personalized.
The ads never use the times, paces, distances, body data or GPX files you enter on this site.
Your rights
Because we do not collect tool data and run no accounts, there is no personal profile to access or delete on our side. Analytics data, if you accepted, is held by Google under its policies and is not linked to your name. Data used to serve ads is also held by Google under its policies; your choices for it are listed under Advertising above. For any request, email hello@laptally.com.
